1771 Casa Los Frailes - Bottle

‎1771 Casa Los Frailes is the monastrell of the oldest glass vineyards of the 75-year-old estate in calcareous soils, very poor and poorly evolved. 1771 is the year that the winery was bought by our ancestors from the King of Spain, Carlos III in public auction after having been expropriated from the friars (that is why it is called Casa Los Frailes). The label is a reproduction of some of the writing that still works in our possession as 13 generation. It is a monastrell of clones inherited from generation after generation, from our terroir and our Mediterranean-continental climate. It is a unique monastrell, with thin skin and without much color, delicate, elegant and with an exceptional freshness and length.‎

Valencia

Valencia is a Spanish designation of origin established in 1932 for wines from the province of Valencia .

As early as the  2nd century  BC, Sagunto wine was mentioned in the works of Juvenal and Martial . This wine would become famous during the Middle Ages , although there is evidence of vine cultivation since the Neolithic era in the area now occupied by the Valencian Community . Communicated through a seaport overlooking the Mediterranean , Valencia has exported its wines since ancient times. In fact, a large part of the production of this designation of origin is destined for the foreign market. This means that its red , white , rosé , brisado , rancio, sweet , liqueur sparkling and aromatic sparkling wines are not very well known in Spain.

This protected designation of origin (PDO) was registered with the European Union on June 13, 1986. 3 ​​4​ It has also been registered with the World Intellectual Property Organization since June 22, 2021
