Nestled in the lush wine country of Spain, Baron De Ley is synonymous with quality, tradition, and innovation. The Gran Reserva is a celebration of these values, a wine that encapsulates the essence of Spanish viticulture at its finest.

Crafted from a selection of the best Tempranillo grapes, sourced from the oldest vineyards, Gran Reserva is a testament to the art of winemaking. These venerable vines yield grapes of extraordinary quality and intensity, making them the ideal foundation for this prestigious wine. The winemaking process is characterized by meticulous attention to detail, from the careful handpicking of grapes to the traditional method of aging in French and American oak barrels. This lengthy aging process, followed by further maturation in the bottle, allows Gran Reserva to develop its complex flavors, silky texture, and elegant finish.

Gran Reserva embodies the harmony between nature and craftsmanship. Its production is a careful balance of traditional practices and modern techniques, ensuring a wine of unmatched quality and character. This is a wine that not only reflects the rich terroir of its origin but also the passion and expertise of its makers.

The Baron De Ley Gran Reserva is a sophisticated expression of Rioja’s elegance, complexity, and gracefulness. Crafted from Tempranillo and Graciano grapes sourced from old vineyards in Cenicero, Rioja Alta, this wine is a testament to the region’s ideal combination of Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influences, contributing to its elegant wines with aging capacity. The meticulous winemaking process involves manual harvest and selection, ensuring only the best grapes contribute to the wine’s quality. Aged for a minimum of 24 months in American and French oak casks and then for an additional 36 months in bottle, the Gran Reserva develops aromas of outstanding complexity and a smooth, velvety structure. The result is a wine with a lovely ruby-red color, medium depth, and slight brick-red hues, showcasing great aromatic intensity with hints of lavender, ginger, and saffron on the nose. The palate is round and balanced, featuring silky tannins while maintaining freshness and liveliness, leading to a long, lingering aftertaste with notes of toasted wood and dried fruits

D.O.Ca Rioja

Rioja is a qualified designation of origin (DOCa) of Spain that distinguishes certain wines produced in areas of the autonomous communities of La Rioja and the Basque Country mainly and, to a lesser extent, in Navarra and Castilla y León , 4 (less than 2.5 km²). Due to the orographic and climatic diversity, three production sub-zones are distinguished - Rioja Alta , Rioja Oriental (Rioja Baja) and Rioja Alavesa - where wines of different characteristics originate. The average annual production of Rioja wine is 269 million liters (in 2020) (85% red wine and 15% white and rosé wine). Rioja wines are fresh, aromatic, with a balanced composition and an excellent bouquet .

DOCa Rioja wine is identified by its back labels and numbered seals. It is the designation of origin most chosen by consumers both inside and outside the home, with 36% and 27%, respectively, of consumption. 5

Within the European Union , Rioja has had the protection of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) since June 13, 1986. 7 It has also been registered with the World Intellectual Property Organization since June 22, 2021.
