The young wine from the prestigious Pago de los Capellanes winery is made entirely with Tempranillo from a selection of vineyards located in Pedrosa de Duero, La Horra and Gumiel del Mercado, in Burgos. Pago de los Capellanes Roble 2020 is dominated by fruit notes and represents the maximum expression of tempranillo cultivated in what is one of the best areas of the Ribera del Duero.
Ribera Del Duero
Ribera del Duero is a designation of origin that covers vineyards located in Castile and León ( Spain ), within a strip of the Duero River basin , about 115 kilometers long and 35 wide, located at the confluence of the provinces of Soria (19 municipalities), Burgos (60), Segovia (4) and Valladolid (19). 4 It begins approximately in the east in San Esteban de Gormaz and extends to Quintanilla de Onésimo in the west. At the end of 2005, crops in the area constituted approximately 2% of the total area dedicated to grape cultivation in Spain.
As of December 31, 2017, it comprises a registered vineyard area of 23,353 ha 5 consisting of 8,220 active winegrowers 5 and 288 wineries . 6 In 2018, the harvest began on September 19 and reached 125,438,801 kilos of grapes collected
